The Location

In Tarifa you will find the southernmost tip of mainland Europe, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and the wind rarely sleeps. Surrounded by long golden beaches, turquoise water and the coast of Africa on the horizon, it is widely known as the kitesurfing capital of the continent. It is an ideal place to learn, progress and simply feel alive on the water.

Our base sits close to the beach, with the whitewashed old town and its sun soaked plazas just a short stroll away. Days are spent on the water and evenings unwind in town, with that unmistakable laid back Andalusian vibe carrying you through the week.

On The Water

Each day centres around time on the water, with group kitesurf coaching matched to your level as the Levante and Poniente winds sweep across the bay.

Between sessions there is space to rest on the sand, swim, wander the old town or simply soak up the sunshine. Whether you are flying a kite for the very first time or chasing your next big air, the rhythm of the week is built around progress, good company and plenty of stoke.

You will stay in comfortable, well placed accommodation close to the beach and the heart of Tarifa, the perfect base to rest and recharge between sessions on the water.



Room types vary between shared and solo occupancy depending on the time of booking. Your room type will be confirmed ahead of arrival, and where possible we will accommodate your preference. Some rooms have shared bathrooms.

Explore the Coast

With miles of open beach, a charming old town and stunning coastal scenery all on your doorstep, there is plenty to explore when you are not on the water. Wander the whitewashed streets, relax on the sand or take in the views across the Strait towards Africa.

Rest & Recover

Tarifa runs at a gentle, easy pace. Between sessions there is space to slow down, enjoy long lunches, swim in the warm water and soak up the sunshine, so you arrive at each kitesurf session feeling refreshed.

Your Hosts

This trip is hosted by the ActiveXplore team, the sports and wellness travel specialists.

We take care of the logistics, the coaching and the good times, so all you have to think about is getting on the water.

Kitesurf coaching is delivered by Addict Kite School. An experienced, accredited local school who know the Tarifa wind, water and beaches inside out.
